The very first and most highly cherished of our mitsuro style bands- it has two ends that meet and overlap at the middle like a sturdy embrace.
An ancient Japanese wax technique, Mitsuro Hikime was originally developed using earthen elements like pine resin and beeswax to create a stretchy wax that striates like the leaves of bamboo. Creating mitsuro requires an open mind that is flexible, agile and never overly attached to outcome, as well as steady hands that can draw out a material consistently. These rings are like little poems to the present moment.

About this Ring

5mm wide at face, tapers to 2.5mm at back, crafted using the Mitsuro Hikime technique. We honor and thank the teachers who shared this method, Hiroshi Tsuyuki and Yoko Ohba.

Can be stacked flush with other bands. We consider this band to be very sturdy due to the width, and also comfortable for most hands due to the tapered back. This style is available in sizes 4-10 only (including half and quarter sizes). If you are interested in a size outside of that range, please contact us.

4-8 weeks to craft, then ships overnight or can be picked up curbside. If you would like to bring one home sooner, please contact us.
